Organisation of Lok Satta

Lok Satta as an organization was guided by FDR, whose seven members were part of Lok Satta's Apex Committee. In addition, an advisory council guided FDR with respect to decisions and activities. The FDR and the advisory council comprised academicians, businessmen, former civil servants, journalists, management professionals and social workers. To support the two organizations'activities, an NRI organization titled Federation of Democratic Reforms in India (FDRI) was formed in 1998, based in the United States. Lok Satta has put in a conscious effort to combine active citizenship with a happy personal life. "Not everyone can be Mahatma Gandhi. We do not speak about martyrdom and sacrifice. We believe in investing for ourselves," quipped JP. Lok Satta identified problems that had a high impact on the lives of people. This was followed by research into the causes and documenting them.
